Edward Gordon

Edward Gordon creates scenes of quiet beauty; the sense of solitude created by an absence of human figures evokes the senses of the viewer instead. A consummate draftsman with a keen eye for depicting his subject matter, he achieves painstaking precision in his rendering of texture, color, and form. Manipulating paint as an almost photographic medium, Edward Gordon deliberately softens the strong contrasts of a scene without blurring its details. He mellows the outline drawing with such perfection that it becomes impossible to detect his underdrawings. Because of the incredible amount of information contained in each of his paintings, Edward Gordon is able to produce only 4 to 6 images per year.
